Front of the House Staff (Server/Bartender, Hosts) Bittersweet Bistro is an established (20 years) restaurant in Santa Cruz County. We have recently expanded and upgraded our banquet and patio facilities to accommodate wedding ceremonies, weddings, larger group events, live music and more.

All staff members are required to work all holidays as well as weekends. We desire employees who possess integrity, honesty, a team-oriented attitude, and a driven work ethic.

SERVERS/BARTENDERS

We are looking for exceptional, enthusiastic individuals to join our team of professional wait staff. Our servers are expected to take initiative, work efficiently in a high-pressure environment, treat restaurant guests and well as co-workers with respect and make flawless service an utmost priority.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient with a touch-screen, point of sale computer system
  • Extensive knowledge of cuisine, wine and liquor
  • At least three years of experience in the restaurant industry
  • Experience with guest relations
  • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment Professional appearance and pleasant demeanor
  • Able to work in a high-pressure fast paced environment with an ability to multi-task
  • Poised under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Desire to represent the refined and professional environment that the Bittersweet Bistro strives to maintain
  • Ability to lift at least fifty pounds
  • Insure cleanliness of your work place
  • Maintain cash and bank control procedures
  • Ability to work with others as a team player
  • Works quickly, neatly and efficiently
  • Able to work with a diverse group of fun co-workers
  • Maintain excellence in all aspects of food service
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstation
  • Maintain effective channels of communication with co-workers, superiors and owners
  • Strong organization, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stand on feet for an 8 hours shift
  • Enthusiastic self-starter, capable with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work weekends and all holidays

HOSTS

We are hiring professional hosts to represent our restaurant, relate to guests and ensure that all operations run smoothly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer literacy-Word and Excel, POS preferred Micros
  • Hosting and knowledge of seating reservations to manipulate the maximum seating turns
  • Must thrive in a high-pressure environment with an ability to multi-task
  • Experience with guest relations
  • Closing evening shifts, some day shifts able to work all holidays and weekends
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills/phone mannerisms
  • One year experience minimum in the restaurant industry
  • Poised under pressure
  • Maintain cash and bank control procedures
  • Insure cleanliness of your work place
  • Ability to work with others as a team player
